Field Notes started in Chicago in 2007 when Aaron Draplin made a batch of memo books as holiday gifts and realized they were better than anything you could buy. The Original Kraft is still the one: 3.5 by 5.5 inches, 48 pages, saddle-stitched with three staples, kraft paper cover printed with soy-based ink. Available in graph, ruled, or plain. Printed and manufactured in the USA.
